Sniper

“If the third time wasn’t the charm, I doubt the fourth time will be.”

Such a thought crossed my mind as I braced myself to open an unfamiliar door. The stagnant air and silent vibe only confirmed my suspicion - it’s going to be one sad, lonely room. In this small room with only a bed, a table and a wardrobe, I unpacked what little I have and made it look similar to my previous room. I guess I was just used to dormitory life. As I was moving my books to the drawer under the table, I found that the previous room owner had left something heavy.

An airsoft gun with scope, complete with ammo at the back.

A Moment of Decision

He thought no one would hear him cry, if it was by the river.

A gentle yet frail hand patted his back, and after what felt like months of tears and agony, he lifted his head. The roar of the river bombarding his senses still, he could not figure out who was there. A pull; and he was dragged quite a short ways away from the water. He took a moment to regain himself, before realizing the frail, old woman out of breath.

Unflinching

Sometimes, I found her face peculiar.

Not long after my family moved and I changed schools, I stumbled upon a girl my age on my way back home. The road was long but properly taken care of - someone could use a bike to follow the road down from school to my house without cycling even once, and would get there quickly. I didn’t have a bike, though, so my trip home is more of a long stroll. Halfway through this road, there is a field with a large tree on one side, and a short way to a cliff from another. One could sit under the tree’s cooling shade and still marvel at the sky on the other side. It is there I found her.

She was holding up sandwiches to the sky.

Hand-in-hand Forever

“You look good!”, my housemate announced to the entire block. “What are you up to?”

“Stop grinning,” my cheeks burning red, from both flattery and embarrassment. I suppose it is deserved; I haven’t pulled this dress out of the wardrobe for months now. That being said, it's not like I can compare to her looks on Friday nights. “Just meeting old friends, Han.”

“A guy?”

“A guy,” I half-whispered. “Stop grinning!”

“I’m just glad you’re going out again, dear. After, you know..”

Card Game: Drain

Another card game I thought of, when we're chilling in cafe.

What you need: A deck of poker cards

Players: 2 players (have yet to test on 3+ player gameplay)

How to play:
To set up the game, shuffle the deck and give each player 5 cards. Put the remaining deck in the middle.
The goal of the game is to take turn to guess your opponent's cards. If your opponent lose all their cards (by being guessed) you win.

He's My Brother

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake - He’s My Brother

I was trying to recall the day I met my brother.

The first thing that came to mind was the freezing wind. From all the difficult walks and all the struggle through numerous natural formations, I can’t remember anything as clear as the raging blizzard that surrounded us – it was the first time that I felt anything, anything else. I remembered seeing the blinding white fading away, much like my own consciousness. I remembered how the cold is sinking to my bones the way I was sinking into the snow. I remembered someone shouting my name – I was with another guy – before all the white turned pitch-black.

Board Game: The Hong Kong Flounder

This post serves only to pre-advertise our (by us I mean my teammates and I) currently non-commercialized board game by a CCA I'm in, the Hong Kong Flounder. It is a simple board games played with cards, the "Hong Kong" Board, a severely imbalanced pieces of Tetris, and lots of fun!

Details of the game might be sensitive as I'm writing this post without the knowledge of my groupmates, but in essence you are a flounder trying to go through Hong Kong, a city undergoing massive (and by massive I mean MASSIVE) reconstruction upon its ridiculous advancement in technology. There are other Flounders in town, and you must stop them while reaching the goal yourself.

A building suddenly falls in front of you and you can't proceed? A group of buildings moved on its own?? A Flounder ran past you and now you lose a card? Some of the Flounders might even be working with the Mafia Boss!? Several playtest has been underwent to balance this game, and the gameplay has proven to be a total chaos. You are never winning, you are never losing. There's always a way out, one way or another.

Wait for more updates!!
