My Cyrus

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake - My Cyrus

Who I am might not be important. What I am, might be a different story.

Like most of living beings, I could remember but blurred images and impaired hearing of how I was born. Have you ever thought about how you grew up from the moment you existed? Before you know it, you know your mom and dad. Before you know it, you can eat, sleep, and play. Before you know it, you know other things in this world. There isn’t really an explanation to this that I could accept – I couldn’t accept those maturity stuff and theory of mind – but in the same confusing, yet pleasingly convenient way, I had come to know her.

Cyrus Washington.

Demons

Big Fishes Carnival at The Lake - Demons

“This is a lie, right?”

We had been spending days together, with good and bad circulating much like Yin and Yang. We went through hell, enjoyed ourselves in paradise, and although futile, the hope of those times to last forever still coated this little heart of mine.

I could never mistake the memory of me flying high, into the blue of the unreachable before the world pulls me back down, where he would be there, smiling as he caught me, as if a bag of gold had just fallen from the clouds. I would be giggling then, pleading to have another try at reaching the place where the winds belong. Nor could I mistake the oceans of stars that he pulls closer to me by swinging me up high, just like in the day yet pleasingly distinct.

“I can’t believe this. You just.. can’t..” my mutterings continued.

Valentine: Outside (CH. 7)

The Dead Masters - Valentine: Outside

She was outside.

She could see nothing beyond what she could reach, for everything beyond that was covered in the dark snow. The constant growling of the hail invaded her auditory senses since she could remember, and then she was in a mysterious peace of doing anything she did in silence, pretty much after the hail was set as the default sound. Her newfound tolerance to cold, however, didn’t alter her desire of bathing herself in warmth. She was constantly groping around while moving forward, sensing that little bit of warmth that was covered by the cold of humanity’s mistakes, sincerely hoping that the traces of warmth was the way to the city – to her sister.

And then she tripped.

Plunging your face into cold water was excruciating enough for most, but her body plunging onto the thick, merciless snowfield was but a short rest for her. Every now and then she had this childish urge of making a snow angel by moving her hands and legs, but mostly dismissed the thought as she considered napping as a better option. She found it strange, though, that although the chilling effects could kill, she never had a permanent sleep. She still didn’t know why she didn’t die.

Me Still

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake - Me Still

Again I sat, resting my hand on the armrest while having the other arm support my temple as I begin once again doing what I have been and will be doing from now on. The sofa I sat on, a sofa only for one person, appeared to be made of dust, for I had never bothered by it nor have I been bothered to clean it. It was as it was, and so would the rest of the house be. Dirty, rotten, uncared for, that’s what this house will be.

Aisle

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake – Aisle

“Hoi, Aisle!”

I smiled in relief upon my name, for I had expected him not to come but wanted him to do so still – and there he was. Excitement crept up my spine and drove me to run to him, but with all the crowd gushing to the opposite direction, I was more of keeping myself still in the current. Realizing my agony, he who was expecting to wait for me reluctantly walked to me instead.

Six to Five

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake - Six to Five

The hectic hall that we've stepped into - a place of reunion and farewell - didn't change the fact that we were always the noisiest group wherever we go. As the big, black board of blinking letters indicated that we were there early, an unanimous vote brought us to Starbucks coffee shop, a place found everywhere yet nowhere far from our hearts.

Temple Underneath

Big Fishes' Carnival at The Lake - Temple Underneath

The word 'damp' couldn't even describe the place in which I found myself starving in. While I expected the whole corridor of moss to be completely pitch-black, it was instead illuminated by a dim blueish green light with some shade of purple, which was even more eerie than necessary, for the light seemed to came from nowhere. In such a vile space, I slowly wandered around, prepared with live ammunition I wish I could eat instead.
